Kiwanis of Westminster is part of a global organization called Kiwanis International. Since its founding in Detroit, Michigan, in 1915, Kiwanis has grown to more than 8,400 clubs in 96 nations. There are about 606,608 active members in the Kiwanis family, representing nearly every culture on every continent, all seeking to improve people’s lives.
Kiwanis of Westminster has been an active member of the community for many years. The club was named Organization of the Year by the City of Westminster in 2003 and 2005. The club was also recognized in it’s district as a Distinguished Club five years in a row from 2001 to 2006. Three Kiwanis Lt. Governors have come from this club as well.
Besides serving the needs of children in our community, we sponsor a club for teens called KiWins. The club consists of teenagers who want to be involved in their community . Currently, they have 231 members who donate their time to projects such as park cleanups, volunteering at fundraisers, helping other kids by being a tutor, etc.
